Verse 1
Driving in a blizzard to a venue way out there
New Years Eve and freezing on a road to God knows where
Thinking of the year just passed, the lows and the highs
Like milestones on a journey on a cold winter’s night

Verse 2
After three hours of driving we were setting up the gear
And passing round the brandy – glad we were here
(And) a long way from home I was hoping all was well
Raised my glass to mobile phones and Alexander Bell

So gather round together and sing “Auld Lang Syne”
Don’t forget old acquaintances with the passing of time

Lead singer/founder member of the Irish Americana group “The Rye River Band” for 35 years they have recorded 2 albums, 1 EP and 2 singles with the band, one a charity single (Dublin Simon).
